Gloo, LLC

gloo Design system (codename: tetons)

My primary objective as Principal Visual Designer was unification of the experience and aesthetic across the company’s product suite, through the creation of an extensive and cohesive design system. Responsibilities included strategy and timeline planning, defining principles, determining ‘primitives’; including color, typography, spacing and ultimately design of the components to be used by product designers companywide. Deep considerations for WCAG compliance and accessible interfaces were foundational in our strategy to create a design system that would be distributed to and adopted by both product and engineering stakeholders. Clearly defined documentation fueled critical planning, and facilitated a clear roadmap for successful execution. Had my time with Gloo not been abbreviated due to the current economic climate, I believe we were well on our way to creating a design system not only consumable in-house, but also with the diversity and accessibility worthy of being shared with other heavy hitters in the growing realm of design systems.
